During these the two years we train each student towards their BHSAI. Working through the training courses for  BHS Stage One, BHS Riding and road safety, BHS Stage Two, PTT, BHS Stage Three, ESFAC 1st aid, and Children protection course.  We  pay for the students on site training and the exams fees directly to the BHS. 

The students have to go off site to other  exam centres to sit all the exams except the BHS Riding and Road Safety exam which we can do here at Triley.

Pupils are required to help with the day to day running of the centre five days a week, the average working day being 8hours.

Pupils have the option to bring their own horse at a reduced livery cost, and are paid £75 / week on a fortnightly basis.

Triley Fields Equestrian Centre is a great venue for pupils to gain experience, our busy centre offers pupils the chance to learn and work in many different areas. Our centre houses a very busy Riding School, a Pony Club Centre, Livery Horses, horses taken in for breaking and schooling, an Event Centre, as well as being a BHS Training Centre.

Pupils get the chance to join Clinics with specialist Dressage / Show Jumping and Eventing coaches.

We currently have one space available for a working pupil, if you are interested please come for an interview and assessment lesson.

Pony Club Area Competitions

Show Jumping
On Saturday 30th July, two teams from members of Triley’s Pony Club Centre set off to Chepstow racecourse for area show jumping. The first team; Megan Powell on Skippy, Abi Fisher on Sully, Poppy Waller on Laddy and Emily Curtis on Fizz took part in the 2ft and 2ft3. In the 2ft, the girls came 3rd as a team, with Abi coming 4th individually. In the 2ft3, Emily came sixth individually. The girls were all very pleased as they each had at least one clear round in the day!

The second team; Harriet Norman on Ellie, Jade Bennet on Sonni, Issie Mogg on Seren and Miriam Fisher on Kevin took part in the 85cm+ qualifying class. In the warm-up, Harriet was placed 2nd after a clear round. In the qualifying class, the girls finished two rounds each with 12 faults between them, meaning that they were placed 4th out of 19 teams overall. Miriam finished with two clear rounds and so went into the jump off, but had an unfortunate one pole down. This team also came fifth in the tack and turnout competition. Go Triley Turnips!

Dressage
On Monday 1st August, Jade Bennet on Sonni, Miriam Fisher on Topaz, Sasha Stock-Jones on Kevin and Abi Fisher on Sully rode in an area dressage competition in Park Farm, Llantilio Crossenny. They took part in the novice competition and warm-up class with Sasha finishing 3rd in the warm-up and Miriam 6th. Unfortunately they were not placed in the qualifying class, but for a first attempt against older people there were some good scores! A lot of thanks needs to go to Kath and Beccy for help with plaiting, and also to everyone who helped with transport for the dressage and show jumping. Well done everybody!
