So what is a Feed?

Each time a page is added to Trifec.com it automatically adds a link, date and short description to what is called a feed.  This feed can be displayed in many different ways:

It can be within a  link in your favorites or bookmarks in your browser. Instead of visiting the site you can hover over the link and it expands to show a list of the latest pages. Just bookmark this page and the link will be automatically added.

It’s easy to register and only takes a minute.

1. Click the Register button on the right sidebar
2. Choose a username (we suggest your name eg: Fred Bloggs)
3. Fill in your email address – this needs to be a current valid email address. (Your email will only be used for registration. Privacy Policy)
4. Click the Register button
5. An email will be sent to you right away containing your username, password and a login link.

You can then add comments.

If you would like to add your own pages or photos to Trifec.com, please contact us and we will upgrade your username.

If you haven’t received the email from us, it may have gone into your spam folder. If it’s not there either, please contact us.

The login process adds a cookie to your computer so you don’t need to write your login details again and again. (It’s used for authentication only, we do not use tracking cookies.)

Once you have registered, please contact the Trifec.com Webmaster to change your profile to ‘Contribute’. Please also include in the email what you would like to add to Trifec.com. If you would like to also include images in your pages let us know.  We won’t allow image inclusion right away but after you have done a few pages we can change it.

We will email you to inform you if you have been successful. We can’t automate this process as the site would be inundated with spam!

Click on the Dashboard link in the right sidebar.

The dashboard panel will load.  In this page you can add posts. Click the Add New link under the Posts section.

Next you need to enter the title of the page you are adding.  This will show at the top of the page just like ‘How to add your own page’ does above.

Enter the text in the main box. You can format it using the icons at the top of the window.

If you want the page to be found in search engines and Trifec’s own search area, enter some search words as tags.

You can suggest a category for your page to go in.  If nothing is selected it will go in the Your Posts section of the site.

Once your happy with your page and included any tags and category suggestions, click the Submit for Review button.

Your post will be viewed by a member of staff and once authorised your page will be put on the site with your details at the top. Thanks for adding content to Trifec.com. If you regularly add material we will most likely upgrade your profile to the next level which is Author, if this happens you can post pages and images yourself.

In the Dashboard > Post > Add New area, above the main post window are 4 icons. to upload images, click on the left box within a box icon.

The From Computer Tab will be highlighted at the top of the window. If you need to firstly upload an image that you have just taken or someone has emailed to you – Click the Select Files button. Navigate to the images on your computer and select them.

No resizing of images is needed as Trifec.com do all that for you. It will inform you it’s ‘crunching’ this is when it’s making various sized images for you to insert. Note there is a maximum image size of 2MB to upload.

A media page will be displayed for each item of media you upload.

Change the title of the image.  It is advisable to do this if your image is a load of letters and number often used by digital cameras. We would change the above to Drops as when people hover of the image the word ‘Drops’ will be displayed.

In the final part, you can select how big you want the image to display on your page. You can also select the location. If you want to wrap text around the image tick Left or Right. Once you are happy, click the ‘Save all changes’ button.  It will then add the media into your page.

If the Image is already on the server

If you have seen the image on another page or you have already uploaded it.

In the Dashboard > Post > Add New area, above the main post window are 4 icons. to upload images, click on the left box within a box icon.

Click on the  Media Library link.

Select through the list until you see the image you want to include.  Click the show link to the right of the image and add as above.

It’s really easy to link to your photo albums in Facebook. Suzanne Keech has done just that and they are listed under the Facebook icon on the galleries page (thanks Suzanne).

If you want to share your Facebook galleries (you choose which ones you want displayed on trifec.ocm) please email webmaster@trifec.com. We will then send you a temporary login with super authorisation and a ‘how to guide’ to add your Facebook to the site.

BHS Criminal Record Bureau Checked

We take the safety of children that visit the site very seriously so all staff are Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checked and cleared before working at Triley Fields Equestrian Centre. The CRB is an Executive Agency of the Home Office. Further details at www.crb.gov.uk

First Aid

We ensure there is always at least one first aider on site. There are first aid kits in all key areas of the site.

Security

• The site is fully alarmed and Heddlu Gwent Police Force specifically include the site on their rounds. This ensures the site is as secure as possible.
• All activities are risk assessed and approved by Monmouthshire County Council.
• The riding school is fully licensed with Monmouthshire County Council.

Fire

• The site is fully compliant with South Wales Fire and Rescue Service and regular inspections are undertaken.
• There are a selection of fire extinguishers in all key areas of the site.

• You should ensure you own full copyright for all media (text, photos, audio or video) you upload.
• Taking images, text, video or audio from other peoples websites is a breach of copyright law – do not do it.
• If you have taken the photo/video yourself, you own the copyright for it.
• If a family member or friend has taken photos or video for you, maybe whilst you are riding, ensure they give full permission for it to be included on Trifec.com.
• If you upload media that is of a child under the age of 16, parental or guardian permission is required, please email us to confirm this.
• Once uploaded Triley Fields Equestrian Centre will own full copyright for the media and can use any it for it’s own purposes.
• If you include links in your page, please use them correctly, all links should load in an external window.
• By uploading media to our servers you agree to the above rules.

Images

• All written text and images used on www.trifec.com are Copyright ©2009 Triley Fields Equestrian Centre.
• You are to seek permission from webmaster@trifec.com if you are to use any text or images from the site.
• All images of children on the site have full parental / guardian permission to appear on this site.

Data Protection

• Any data collected in the registration process will be kept strictly confidential to Trifec.com (Exeption: See below).  We are not in the business to rip people off and we know how annoying it is to get spam so we aren’t going to encourage it!
• Your password is confidential to only you.  We are unable to see it in our admin panel.
• We will not release your email address to anyone.
• All backups of our database are stored locally.
• All backups are password protected.

Inappropriate or Offensive content

• We try very hard to keep Trifec.com an enjoyable site to visit. If you post or send inappropriate, offensive or objectionable content to Trifec.com we will delete your account and restrict access to the site.
• When we believe you are or may be in breach of any of the United Kingdom Internet laws, for example because you posted defamatory content, we may use your personal information such as your IP address, email or login information and inform relevant third parties such as your employer, school e-mail, Internet provider or law enforcement agencies about the content and your behaviour.

External Sites

• Triley Fields Equestrian Centre is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.
