School Holiday Activities

We run a wide range of activities through every school holidays. You will be able to find a list of whats on during the next holidays in the Whats On section in the main menu.

Own a Pony Day

These are half day sessions designed to give children an insight into what owning a pony entails. The children ride, groom and play games; spending time with our ponies and learning about to take care of a pony and its daily needs etc.

Mini & Summer Camp

We run camps in each school holiday – during the half term breaks these are usually over two days with some children attending both days and others just a single day.

Our Easter camp and our two summer camps are 5 days culminating in a competition day on the Friday where the children can put everything they have learned into practice with lots of rosettes and prizes to be won!

The children attend for the full day from 9am-4pm and are put into groups of similar ability.  There are groups from complete beginners  to the more advanced. Each days starts with each child grooming their allocated pony and cleaning their tack.  Each child then participates in three ridden sessions, depending on ability these sessions will be a mix of flat work in the indoor and outdoor schools along with jump sessions, either in the schools on on grass or for the most experienced on the cross country course. There are also fun mounted games sessions which get very competitive!

We also try to run a written or practical session during each camp day too –  ranging from the very basic ie. what you would feed a pony to the more advanced ie. plaiting and bandaging. You name it we have it covered!

Drinks and snacks are provided but children need to bring a packed lunch and suitable clothing for the weather.
