A huge congratulations to the TriFEC Pony Club Centre team who came 1st in this weekend’s Tetrathlon.

A team of four 11 year olds from Triley Fields Pony Club Centre competed in and won the Brecon & Talybont Hunt branch of the Pony Club’s Minimus 11yrs and under Tetrathlon last weekend. The team consisted of Harriet Norman riding Fudge, Issy Mogg riding Maisie, Jade Bennett riding Sully and Katie Hoyle riding Ellie. Other Centre members Lewis and Tomas McKenzie-Crawford also competed as individuals.

The Tetrathlon, held over 17 & 18 April, consisted of pistol shooting from over 7 metres with two hands; swimming as far as possible within 2 minutes; running 1000m and riding a tricky cross country course with 3 water complexes and a gate to open.

The team of four girls triumphed over 60 other competitors to win 1st prize with Issy Mogg also winning 1st prizes in the best swimming and best running individuals. Her team-mate, Katie Hoyle, also swam well over 6 lengths in 2 minutes and had a clear cross country round. This was the first event of its kind that the girls had entered, but they conquered all nerves and fears to win the competition by over 1000 points. Lewis and Tomas also did well both shooting over 500 points and Lewis having a clear cross country round.

All of the children had a fun and enjoyable weekend and are looking forward to the next event.
