The Big Trifec Freeze
The big freeze that gripped parts of the UK didn’t spare Trifec from it’s path. A good covering of snow on Monday (2nd Feb 2009) night meant that many livery customers could not get to the yard to care for their horse as they live in rural areas where the gritting lorries had not been able to venture.
Luckily, being situated on the main A465 trunk road, many of our staff were able to get to work or be fetched easily with our four wheel drives.

Joseph Hancock, the cool dude, even arrived on skis !!
Chris our talented telehandler driver was able to keep the drive, yard and pathways clear and salted all week which made the centre a much safer place for all concerned. The horses were rugged up warmly and turned out for a couple of hours at a time, and they supplied us with some wonderful entertainment as they played in deep snow that some had not seen for quite a while.
All public lessons were cancelled, in the interest of safety (and instructors being trapped in their homes under snowdrifts!) and the indoor arena has been used solely to exercise and work all the horses and ponies here. This has meant that we have, more or less, been able to operate as ‘business as usual’ and Beccy and I would like to thank all the staff and friendly helpers for their extra efforts.
There are a few images in our gallery area.
